Ms. Wilson is an attorney serving the Judicial Conference of the United States Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure, and its five Advisory Committees on Appellate, Bankruptcy, Civil, Criminal, and Evidence Rules.  The committees are charged with promulgating and amending the rules governing practice and procedure in the federal courts.  Their membership consists of federal judges, state supreme court justices, Department of Justice ranking officials, lawyers, and academics appointed by the Chief Justice of the United States.  Ms. Wilson coordinates the work of the rules committees.  Her responsibilities include researching and analyzing legal and historical issues that arise in the rulemaking process, coordinating and staffing committee meetings and public hearings, and providing counsel on rules-related issues to the rules committees, Judicial Conference, the Supreme Court, and Congress.

Ms. Wilson is a graduate of the William and Mary School of Law where she was a member of the William and Mary Law Review and Moot Court, and was on the Editorial Board of the Environmental Law and Policy Review.  Following graduation, Ms. Wilson entered private practice in Norfolk, Virginia.  She then returned to her home state of Florida to work in the office of Debbie Wasserman Schultz, now Chair of the Democratic National Committee.  Ms. Wilson has spent a majority of her legal career with the federal courts—first as a staff attorney handling Section 1983 civil rights cases, habeas petitions, and post-conviction motions filed by prisoners, and then as a law clerk to two United States Magistrate Judges.  Her most recent clerkship was with the Honorable Douglas E. Miller in the Eastern District of Virginia, Norfolk and Newport News Divisions. 

Since 2012, Ms. Wilson has served as an adjunct professor teaching legal research and writing to first-year law students.  She is currently teaching at the American University Washington College of Law.  Ms. Wilson also regularly presents lectures to high school students as part of the judiciary’s nationwide outreach initiative, Open Doors to Federal Courts.
