Join the School of Communication for a special conversation with Current, AU’s journalism center that reports on public media, including PBS, NPR, and local stations across the country. Senior staff members Karen Everhart (Managing Editor), Mike Janssen (Digital Editor), and Julie Drizin (Executive Director) will share insights from nearly 100 years of combined experience in public media. Discover the history, present, and future of noncommercial, public service broadcasting and streaming, and learn about job opportunities and hiring trends in the field. This is a unique chance to hear from experts and understand how to stand out in the public media industry. Pizza will be provided, and those who ask questions will receive public media swag!Ìý

The event will take place in the Malsi Doyle and Michael Forman Theater within the McKinley Building, and doors will open promptly at 6:30 PM. This event is only open to American University community members, and a current American University ID is required for admission.
