Residential Curriculum

In Residence Life, an intentional and consistent residential experience for residents living on campus is facilitated through our Residential Curriculum. This Residential Curriculum seeks to enhance educational opportunities students navigate, promoting co-curricular learning outside of the classroom. Leadership, Self-Discovery, and Community Responsibility serve as the three Learning Goals of our Curriculum, guiding the work of our undergraduate Resident Assistants and the full time, Masters-level Community Directors who oversee each residential community where residents thrive in pursuit of their Home@AU.

Educational Priority

The Educational Priority clearly identifies the intended results of student engagement with our Residential Curriculum. The Residential Curriculum Educational Priority states: Through living on campus, students will become inclusive leaders who nurture compassionate communities.

Learning Goals

Our Resident Assistant and Community Director teams will bring our Curriculum to life by creating opportunities centered around our three Learning Goals. These Learning Goals are Leadership, Self-Discovery, and Community Responsibility.

Students will be provided the opportunity to cultivate their leadership potential through collaborative & experiential learning opportunities.

Ìý

Students will engage in intentional dialogue and self-reflection leading to growth in self-awareness and a deeper understanding of themselves.

Students will develop a sense of social responsibility and commitment to others that fosters inclusivity and a positive living-learning environment.
