Poverty law cuts across many areas of law, which makes it a particularly rich area for study and allows a wide variety of classes to fit within the study of “poverty law.”

Pro Bono Honors Pledge Learn how we work with students who engage in voluntary, uncompensated work while at the law school on behalf of low-income and underrepresented populations or for the public good.

Clinical Program Our Clinics teach client-centered lawyering, which means students learn to exercise empathy, listen to their clients, and let their clients determine the course of the representation.

Externships The law school’s location in Washington, D.C., and its proximity to governmental and non-governmental organizations ensures that the Externship Program can provide students with a wide variety of exciting and valuable work experiences.
