The HLPP is transformative because it bridges the gap between classroom theory and practical application in the real world. By offering a curriculum that integrates emerging case law, hands-on legal projects, and professional development, HLPP empowers us to transition smoothly from the academic setting to a career. As a rising 4L student, I feel I have a deep understanding of legal principles combined with the practical skills necessary to excel in diverse legal environments. The HLPP not only prepares us for immediateÌýsuccess but also equips us with the tools to adapt and thrive in the ever-evolving legal landscape while finding mentors along the way. Attending WCL was one of the best decisions of my life.

After transferring to AUWCL during my 2L year, I found the Health Law and Policy Program (HLPP) to be a game-changer. The program's diverse courses deepened my knowledge of the modern trends and complexities in health law and policy. While engaging with highly skilled professors, I honed a unique skill set to tackle real-time challenges in healthcare and the community. Additionally, working on the Health Law and Policy Brief and participating in the Health Law Regulatory and Compliance Competition were invaluable experiences that refined my legal expertise. Building on these, obtaining the Certificate in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) was pivotal in shaping my career trajectory.

Today, I am excelling as a compliance associate, specializing in corporate health and retirement plan review. My role involves advising on a range of federal regulatory matters and collaborating closely with a variety companies and organizations. I am grateful for the foundation laid by AUWCL's HLPP, with these skills I can navigate the complex compliance landscape with confidence and precision.

At WCL I always found the Health Law and Policy Program to be one of the most open and welcoming organizations on campus. I loved going to their events to learn about class offerings and hear professors speak and each professor was always open to a conversation. I had the amazing opportunity to work as a research assistant for Professor Manian and to take Food and Drug Law with Professor Grossman as my 1L elective. It was ultimately that class that got me interested in the field and put me where I am now; an incoming associate at a "big law" firm. I can honestly say I don't know where I would be without the Health Law and Policy Program!
